
Mark Kennedy Shriver, President, Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School & Corporate Work Study Program
With over 30 years of leadership serving at-risk youth, Mark Shriver has dedicated his career to advancing
the right of every child to a safe and vibrant childhood. Since 2021, he has served as President of Don
Bosco Cristo Rey High School, a Catholic school for students from low-income families providing an
affordable college-preparatory education and utilizing an innovative Corporate Work Study Program.
He led Save the Children’s U.S. programs, which reached over 1.1 million children in rural communities in
2020 through early childhood education and nutrition services. He created Save the Children’s domestic
emergencies programs to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children before, during and after disasters.
In 2014, he founded Save the Children Action Network, which focuses on increasing access to high-quality
early childhood education for children across the country. He also created the organization’s innovative
Choice Program, which serves at-risk youth with intensive, community-based counseling. Mark was
formerly a member of the MD House of Delegates, where he served as the first Chair of the Joint
Committee on Children, Youth and Families.
